Job Responsibilities
The Vehicle Painter will prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and repairing them before painting. The role also includes mixing and applying paints, primers, and coatings with spray guns and other painting tools.
Other duties include matching colours to specifications, painting and refinishing fleet vehicles, inspecting finished work for quality, maintaining painting equipment, and keeping the work area clean and safe. The painter will also coordinate job priorities with the maintenance supervisor, record completed work and materials used when required, and follow company safety and quality standards.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least 2–3 years of relevant automotive painting experience, ideally as a vehicle or automotive painter in a fleet or automobile workshop. Candidates should understand paint mixing, colour matching, surface preparation, and automotive paint application.
The successful applicant should be detail-oriented, committed to quality, familiar with workplace safety procedures, and physically able to stand for long periods and perform manual work. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. English communication skills are also preferred.
Applicants must be comfortable working with paints and chemicals in properly ventilated areas.
